“The European Youth Parliament has been a forum for discussion and reflection for European youth on European policies for more than 20 years. In this way, they contribute to building tomorrow’s Europe. I wish them all continued success.”
– Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council
Last weekend, our students had the opportunity to participate in the European Youth Parliament preliminary session in Rotterdam. After three days of debating at CSG Willem van Oranje, during which they took part in a workshop, debated with each other in teams over current affairs and experienced a day of debating led by European Youth Parliament representatives, five of our motivated, regular VWO4 students went to the Wolfert van Borselen on Sunday 30th November to represent our school. And represent it they did. We are very proud of and would like to thank Tom van Dam, Eline Brasker, Guido van Velthoven, Rick Ouwerling and Marit Huizer for taking on this challenge and devoting their time and energy over the weekend to prepare for and take part in these debates, completely in English.
After acting as the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, these students are now experts on the EU’s energy supply, so, any questions – just ask them!
